Juan Aurich

A., more commonly referred to as Juan Aurich, is a professional soccer team located in Chiclayo, Peru. The original Juan Aurich club was established in 1922, while the current version was founded in 2005. They compete in the Torneo Descentralizado after earning promotion following their victory in the 2007 Copa Perú. Their home matches take place at the Estadio Elías Aguirre. Despite the current Juan Aurich's relatively short presence in the top league, three other football clubs named Juan Aurich have participated in the Torneo Descentralizado. The initial Juan Aurich was established in 1922 and played in the top tier from 1967 to 1983 and from 1988 to 1991. A separate football club, Aurich–Cañaña, emerged between 1994 and 1996, briefly featuring in the Primera División post their promotion through the 1993 Copa Perú. The third Juan Aurich club, rising from the 1997 Copa Perú triumph, competed in the first division from 1998 to 2002. In 2007, Juan Aurich's breakthrough came with their promotion to the Primera División through the Copa Perú. Subsequently, they clinched their second major accomplishment in 2011 by winning the Torneo Descentralizado, outplaying Alianza Lima in the finals' third leg through a penalty shootout.
